Bennett's Wellness Center is focused on the healing and well-being of guests and visitors. The space will encompass elements of comfort as well as a sense of energy and positivity. Bennett’s will have a mix of private and public areas but will separate the two by making conscious decisions through the use of acoustics and orientation. Natural light will be brought into areas with less accessibility to windows but continuously holding privacy with the integration of 3-from interlayers. Area’s with multiple purposes or attitudes will have layered lighting to quickly change settings. Quiet areas will be kept to the right outer side of the Wellness Center while more frequently visited rooms will be located on the left. Having the Director’s Office located straight down the hallway will show guests Bennett’s transparency and welcome them to come forward with questions or concerns.
Part 2 of Bennett’s Healthcare Center (not shown on my portfolio) was the Wellness Center. For this project we focused on WELL Building Standards. I integrated wallpaper in the nutrition area that would inspire healthy eating choices, separated private areas (massage and therapy rooms) to the top side of this floor plan while keeping the more public areas (nutrition area, lobby, and workout rooms) on the lower side for added seclusion. I had a lot of fun with the floor plan for this project - trying to keep an interesting organic design that correlated with Bennett’s previous architecture.
